    2 Day Storyboard Workshop with Jane Wu (storyboard artist on Avengers~!!)

    Wow~ this is turning out a great week for Avenger fans :)

    In 2009, I had the pleasure of working with Jane Wu on the production of Gatchaman at Imagi studio. After the show, many of the talented storyboard team including Jane have moved on to other projects include the summer blockbuster, "The Avengers".

    On June 25th & 29th (Monday & Friday, 7~10PM), Jane will be teaching a 2 day workshop on the Storyboard Essentials over at Gallery Nucleus.

    If you are a fan of Avengers (wanted to see some of the behind the scene story artworks), a fan of animation, or an aspiring storyboard artist, I would strongly recommend checking out the workshop. You will be in for a treat~!

    "Art of Paranorman" Artist Panel at Gallery Nucleus - Aug 19th~!!

    2 Day Concept Design Workshop at Laguna College of Art + Design

    Laguna College of Art + Design have invited CDA back for another 2 day group workshop on Sept 22 & 23 at their main campus.

    If you haven't gone to our past LCAD events, it is basically a tasting menu of the best CDA have to offer in 2 intense days of sharing and learning.

    There will be 5 demos in total ranging from costume, creature, model kit bash, tech, and environment design.

    Strongly recommend for beginning students to use the opportunity to find out more and research about the industry and what you need to learn to better prepare you for the job. Due to the relatively smaller size for the event, it is easy to meet and ask questions during the event.

    For seasoned professionals, it is a great opportunity to meet other professionals and learn new workflow and ideas. (Plus, you don't have to drive all the way up to LA. We are coming to you)

    Space is very limited, so sign up soon~!!

    "Advanced Vis Com" with Andy Chung~!! - Portfolio submission deadline 9/19/12

    Andy Chung is coming back to CDA to teach his awesome, "Adv. Vis Com" class this coming Fall term~!!

    This is a great class for intermediate or advanced artists who want to create realistic designs for film vehicle, props and environments productions.

    Andy doesn't teach this class often, so definitely take advantage of this great opportunity while it is available~!!

    CDA Uninstructed Workshops starting this week~!!

    Finally~ Oct. 1st, it is the first day of Fall 2012 semester~!!

    Starting this week, we are also starting our uninstructed workshop at CDA:

    Wednesday 7:30~10:30PM
    - Long Pose Uninstructed Workshop
     (warm up drawings and a 2 1/2 hr pose or a full 3 hr poses)

    Sunday 6~9PM
    - Short Pose Uninstructed Workshop 
    (2~10 min poses)


    Each workshop is $15 per 3 hrs session. Payment due at the door.


    Hope you can join us for another fun semester of drawing and painting :)


    (Details - Music, snack and coffee provided. Students bring their own drawing materials. Water medium welcomed. Ask for our workshop policy for oil painting)

     Here is a quick 1 hour study from last night's long pose workshop at CDA.

    The pose are 3 hrs long and the workshop runs 7:30~10:30PM every Wed during the school semester.

    The price is $15, pay at the door. Coffee, music, and light snacks provided.
