"Hero Design for Video Games" workshop with Carlo Arellano is coming up at CDA on April 4th next week~!!!

This is a great workshop for anyone interested in creating character designs for video game production.

Carlo is currently the Art Director on the new MOBA game, "Vainglory". His past film & game projects include "Planet of the Apes", "Van Helsing", "War of Warcraft", "God of War: Chains of Olympus", "Resistance: Fall of Men", & "Fuse".

"Visual Development for Animation" with Evgeni Tomov~!!

Hi Everyone,

Evgeni Tomov, the production designer from "Triplets of Belleville", "The Illusionist", & "The Tale of Despereaux" is teaching the "Visual Development for Animation" class at CDA this Summer~!!

Evgeni have worked as an Art Director and Production designer on various US and European animation productions. His recent projects includes several unannounced projects upcoming from Laika & Dreamworks Animation.

We still have a several spaces available after the first weekend's portfolio review (This is an advanced course that requires portfolio review for entry).

Our next portfolio submission deadline is on Sat. May 16th, at 6PM PDT.

Hi Everyone,

This weekend (June 5, 6, & 7), Marshall Vandruff will be back to CDA to teach a special workshop on Artistic Composition & Design.

In this 3-session seminar, Marshall Vandruff will go over how great artists design their work to evoke emotions from their viewers. He will explain the basic principles of composition and show how old masters have used them to create art throughout the ages. Be prepared for a weekend of creative, invigorating learning from one of the best teacher on this complex and important subject~!!

Marshall is very well respected for his teachings in composition. Here are some artists' thoughts after attending Marshal's composition workshop in the past:

Christophe has been working as a Production Designer and Visual Development Artist at Dreamworks Animation since his work on "Prince of Egypt", and will be sharing his years of experience and knowledge about developing visual direction for feature animation films.

This is a great workshop for those wanting to learn more about the production process that goes into feature animations and how to develop clear visual style guides.
